What is a Vacation Ownership Trust?
A Vacation Ownership trust is similar to a homeowner’s association, but for Vacation Owners (also known as timeshare owners). The trust is a legal entity used to manage and maintain vacation properties for the benefit of the timeshare Owners. The trust holds ownership of the properties, ensuring proper management, maintenance, and regulation compliance. The trust operates exclusively for the benefit of the association Owners, ensuring their interests are prioritized in all decisions related to property management and usage.
The purpose of a Vacation Ownership trust is to provide its owners with flexibility, allowing them to enjoy vacation properties without the burdens of full ownership. It ensures the properties are well-maintained and accessible while offering a shared, cost-effective way to enjoy resort-style accommodations.
About Rachel Richard
Rachel Richard is the Resort Association Manager overseeing the Vacation Ownership Trusts at the Eastern Slope Inn and Attitash Mountain Village Resorts, representing over 13,000 Vacation Owners.
In her role, Rachel works on behalf of the timeshare owners, managing the daily operations of the trusts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, advocating for owner interests, and fostering strong relationships with owners. She brings extensive knowledge of the timeshare industry and operational management.
Originally from Connecticut, Rachel began her hospitality career in Myrtle Beach, where she built a strong foundation in the hotel industry. She then expanded her experience in Lincoln, NH, and Cape Cod, MA, gaining exposure to diverse markets and operational environments. Now back in New Hampshire, Rachel resides in the Lakes Region with her husband, their two sons, and pup Stella. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling whenever she has the chance, and embracing the outdoors whenever possible.
